From Data to Influence: The Scientist’s Guide to Powerful Presentations
Overview
“From Data to Influence: The Scientist’s Guide to Powerful Presentations,” challenges the assumption that rigorous science automatically creates impact. Designed for researchers and technical experts, it shows how clarity, structure, and audience-centered framing determine whether ideas get funded, published, adopted, or ignored. Drawing on insights from communicators like Hans Rosling and storytelling principles from Nancy Duarte, the session teaches scientists how to organize data into compelling narratives without sacrificing credibility. Participants learn practical tools for simplifying slides, reducing cognitive overload, strengthening executive presence, and tailoring messages to different stakeholders. The core message: scientific excellence earns discovery — but communication excellence earns influence.
