October 13, 2025 | Macau, China
The Poultry Science Association's first-ever Pacific Rim Scientific Conference officially opened today at The Londoner, and the excitement is palpable. With researchers and professionals from across Asia, Oceania, and the Americas in attendance, the conference is already delivering on its promise to elevate science and foster meaningful international collaboration.
Opening Ceremony: A Warm Welcome to a New Tradition
Co-chairs Dr. Tom Porter and Dr. Ning Yang opened the conference with remarks that set a tone of partnership and scientific ambition. "The Pacific Rim is home to some of the most dynamic poultry production systems in the world,” said Dr. Yang. “This is our time to connect, innovate, and shape the future together."
WPSA Lecture: Diversity in Poultry, from Genes to the Plate
One of the day’s highlights was the WPSA Lecture, “Poultry Diversity: From Genetics to Products,” presented by Dr. Yang and chaired by Dr. Chuang Ma. This session explored the role of genetic diversity in optimizing poultry products for different markets, climates, and cultural preferences—a fitting topic for a conference focused on regional relevance and global potential.
