Pacific Rim Scientific Conference Travel Awards

PSA is offering travel awards for this year's Pacific Rim Scientific Conference for Professional and Student members. Please be sure to read through all of the eligibility requirements and required submission materials before submitting your application for consideration.

International Professional Member Travel Awards

The Poultry Science Association is offering Travel Awards for PSA professional members attending the 2025 PSA Pacific Rim Scientific Conference, October 13-16, in Macau, China. Each award will provide up to $1,000 USD in reimbursement for travel-related expenses associated with attendance at the Conference. Recipients will be required to submit a PSA Expense Reimbursement Form and receipts within 30 days of the conclusion of the Conference.

Applications are due June 30, 2025.

Individuals Applying Must...

  • Applicants must have been a Professional member of PSA for the previous three years (2022, 2023, 2024) and maintained their membership in 2025.
  • Applicants must present an abstract (either oral or poster) at the PSA Pacific Rim Scientific Conference. (The submission deadline is June 16, 2025.)
  • Applicants agree to serve as a session moderator or student competition judge if asked.
  • Applicants must complete the online professional application by June 30, 2025.
  • All Professional members of PSA are invited to apply, but preference will be given to applicants from the United States, Canada or Mexico.

Applicants must include the following uploads with the application:

  • Basic contact information
  • Brief biography (no more than 250 words)
  • Cover Letter
    The letter needs to be in English and identify the following key points:
    • The individual's need for financial travel support. This is a key criterion for the committee's evaluation of applications. Please be detailed when outlining your needs.
    • Benefits of the individual attending the 2025 PSA Pacific Rim Scientific Conference for themselves as well as the benefit to the Association.
    • The individual's previous engagements with the Association such as meeting attendance, papers published in Poultry Science® or The Journal of Applied Poultry Research, and volunteering (journal reviewer, committees, etc.)
  • Abstract Submission
    • Applicants must have submitted an abstract for presentation consideration at the 2025 PSA Pacific Rim Scientific Conference.
    • You will be required to confirm this by uploading a PDF of your abstract in English.
      The PDF must include the following details:
      • Abstract Title
      • Abstract Category (Example: Animal Well-Being & Behavior)
      • Authors & Affiliated Institutions
      • Abstract Body

Abstracts and applications for the International Professional Member Travel Awards are due by June 30, 2025.

Student Travel Awards

The Poultry Science Association is offering Student Travel Awards for student members attending the 2025 PSA Pacific Rim Scientific Conference, October 13-16, in Macau, China. 

Each award will provide up to $1,000 USD in reimbursement for travel-related expenses associated with attendance at the Conference. Recipients will be required to submit a PSA Expense Reimbursement Form and receipts within 30 days of the conclusion of the Conference.

  • Applicants must be a student member of PSA in 2025.
  • Applicants must present an abstract (either oral or poster) at the PSA Pacific Rim Scientific Conference. (The submission deadline is June 16, 2025.)
  • Applicant must be a currently enrolled student at time of abstract submission.
  • Applicant must be the first author and presenter of his/her abstract.
  • Applicant must be entered in the Student Competition for the Conference.
  • Applicants must complete the online student application by June 30, 2025.

  • Basic contact information
  • Cover Letter
    One (1) page maximum describing your research interests and experience as well as future career plans.
  • Submitted Abstract
    This is the abstract that you have entered in the 2025 Pacific Rim Scientific Conference.
  • Resume / CV
    Maximum of two (2) pages.
  • Letter of Recommendation

      • (Maximum of one page) from student’s major professor or academic advisor indicating academic status and the progress made to date. (Applicants may NOT submit more than one letter.)
